CONAM Presents the 5th Annual Houston Powwow
Saturday November 21, 2009
Experience art demonstrations, storytelling, dancing, powwow etiquette, & other educational activities.
The event will begin at noon at First UMC Houston - Westchase in the Quillian Center.
3660 Westchase Drive (Near Beltway 8 & Westpark)
It is a covered venue in case of inclement weather.
Schedule
Noon - Gourd Dance
1pm - Grand Entry
3pm - dance honoring special-needs children, youth and adults
6pm - Gourd Dance & Live Auction
7pm - Grand Entry
Teens & Adult contests
Golden Age 50+

This is a great event for families to come and watch. Native Americans, from toddlers to senior-elders, in full regalia will be dancing to the beat of huge drums played by four to eight people. And it's free. view more discussions throughout the site
